:: Pre-Battle Thoughts & Deployment ::

We were playing Outflank and I went second. This time I wanted the hill because I figured he won't hide anything meaningful behind the wall anyway. With Protectorate going first my idea was to attrition. My Stryker3 list doesn't have the shooting or board control to go for a scenario win I believe.

:: Game ::

Protectorate runs up with 1 daughter taunting Vengeance on both sides.

I move up aggressively towards the right zone because he has nothing projecting force on the left flank. I leave Thunderhead there to clear out Daughters. Stormwall, with Iron Aggression, puts down Covering Fire in front of both of the "far ahead daughters". Stryker is very, very exposed...

My opponent decides to go for the kill with Feat. He thinks he can get 4-5 Daughters on Stryker along with Nicia. I'm guessing 2-3 and probably not Nicia. As it appears I am right: He over-estimated the angle Nicia could get across the obstacle. Thus Plan B is put into place: Jam everything and run Avatar with Gaze.

Mistakes were made: Tough was put on Daughters instead of TFG. As such, all I have to do is clear the TFG and have the Stormwall charge Thyra under feat and it should be game. Thunderhead moves up and clears out the majority of the TFG. Stryker activates and feats + kills Nicia. Storm Lances clear the remaining models and Stormwall moves in to one-shot Thyra.

Victory to the Swans!

:: Evaluation ::

The game is heavily affected by Protectorate going for Stryker top of 2. Because of that there wasn't a lot I could take away from this game. I should of course have taken care to put Stryker closer to the Stormwall and spread out Lances more so that they could actually charge in and not have over half the unit jammed shut. I also learned that Thunderhead is as good at clearing as I'd hoped and Iron Aggression + Escort are great spells. Lastly the list is very small and vulnerable to tricks and I can see split scenarios being a problem.
