Time for more games! Yesterday the Storm Lances really impressed me with Sloan but I wasn't too happy with the 5 points spent on repair dudes. As such I wanted to try the Gun Mage Captain Adept today. First up was Vyros2!

:: Pre-Battle Thoughts & Deployment ::
We were playing Line Breaker and Retribution had first turn. I deployed fairly symmetrically and with the Hunters both to the right. The idea was that I anticipated that Vyros would be unable to move towards the left flag for points based on his deployment. From yesterday's experiences I wanted the Hunters behind the Storm Lances in a way so as said Lances could threaten the center mid-game.
:: Game ::
Retribution runs up.
I forgot for a moment that targeting Imperatus is bad unless you can really burst it down. My fir was thus spread out a bit. I took care to ensure that none of my heavy shooters could get jammed down and had the Lances + Fireflies to threaten any advancing jacks.
The Retribution forces keep pushing up but crucially, Vyros himself camps but a single focus.
With all the jacks in good positions I couldn't not take the assassination opportunity. With the feat intact Vyros was taken down with multiple shots to go. Deceleration helped him a bit but the full weight of double Defenders, double Hunters and Sloan on feat turn was just too much.
Victory to the Swans!
Vyros really has to beware Sloan's assassination potential. If he doesn't do so he'll be taken down, it's as simply as that which this game showed.
I managed the opening well and had both Lances in very good positions to counter any hard pushes from Retribution. Had I not gone for assassination I could've held the feat and taken another turn of pounding his jacks from a distance. Without Killbox I can afford to stay deep on my side of the table. The problem in this matchup from Cygnar's point of view is primarily if he can keep Vyros safe and still gain space on the table.
